One of the house parties we played. Officer Friendly (which was named Enema 4 for about a week) cashed in on Psychic Violents’ huge popularity, AND on the multi-talented Sam Gough’s desire to play drums, AND on Steve Antczak’s long-slumbering desire to sing songs. Mike was learning to play guitar, and I was (continuing) to learn to play bass. Somewhere there is audio evidence of the handful (well, three fingers) of shows we played. The picture above is from a party where someone pissed on the drum set. This was a drunken commentary on how good or bad (or possibly a sublime combination of both) we were. When we ran out of our limited set list (which featured that barn-burner, “White Rabbit”, which I learned while playing with Mike Schafer), we just played the set list again. “Killing Time”, Steve’s ode to the Gainesville lifestyle, was featured in my, Hawk (Jim Bassett) and Steve’s movie TWISTED ISSUES, but never made the cut to the 90-minute soundtrack cassette. It should be noted that the gal standing behind me in the photo above is Sam Gough’s girlfriend (later wife) Vicki, who replaced me on bass when I left for NYC in Spring 1988. She can be seen, along with Steve’s wild mane, in the photo below.
